Frequently asked questions

for Clinicians

General FAQs

  • Yes, you can! We’re thrilled to have providers working directly in schools. If you're interested in contracting for in-person services but are concerned about job availability, don’t hesitate to reach out—we’d be happy to assist!

Looking to work remotely? We’d love to offer you the opportunity to provide teletherapy services to schools!

  • To ensure the best remote therapy experience, we recommend using a computer with an operating system that’s compatible with teletherapy and virtual meeting platforms. Reliable internet access with enough speed for live streaming is a must. You might also need an external microphone and webcam, along with good lighting to create the ideal setup!

  • We don’t provide therapy materials, which means we can offer you a higher compensation rate! This gives you the freedom to choose and supply the materials that best meet the unique needs of the students on your caseload.

  • Each school will communicate their individual documentation and billing requirements. Not all schools bill MaineCare for services.

  • Unfortunately we cannot support CFYs at this time. Please come back and consider us after you’ve obtained your CCCs!

  • Absolutely! We have a private Facebook group for The Speech Team clinicians, and we're always here to personally assist you with any troubleshooting or issues—whether clinical or technical. Your success and love for the work you do are our top priorities!

  • You will need to have a professional liability policy. These can be obtained through ASHA affiliates. We’re happy to point you in the right direction if you need it- just reach out!

  • We currently provide services throughout the state of Maine. Looking for a job elsewhere? Reach out, we’re always looking to expand!

  • Definitely! We know that as a busy professional, having control over your schedule is essential. While each school has different needs, you'll work directly with the school to set up the days and times for therapy. This gives you the flexibility to arrange your schedule around what matters most to you!

  • Depending on each school’s individual needs, you may be asked to provide case management services for “speech only” students in coordination with the school-based special education staff.

  • We truly value your expertise and professionalism, and we want to give you the freedom to approach your work in the way that works best for you. Our goal is for you to enjoy the work you love while being compensated for the value you bring!
